Twister Sports Zero Tolerance Policy
“Workplace Harassment, Violence and Controlled Substance Prevention”
Twisters Zero-Tolerance Policy is designed to address issues that directly affect the safety of employees and the operation of the company. The mounting violence in society prompts the company to adopt this policy for all employees. Central Missouri Twisters LLC is committed to preventing workplace harassment and violence and to ensuring an environment that is both safe and healthy for employees and patrons. Employees must treat each other with respect and courtesy at all times. Employees are prohibited from engaging in behavior that might be dangerous to others. Employees are prohibited from using or bringing firearms, weapons and dangerous devices or illegal substances to work. Twister Sports is a no-alcohol, no-tobacco facility. Staff will not, at any time, engage in alcohol or tobacco use on Twister Sports property or while clocked in. Violating any part of Twisters’ Zero-Tolerance Policy will result in termination of employment.
The following is a non-all-inclusive list of areas that will not be tolerated at Twister Sports.
- Workplace Violence: Any act of physical violence that occurs at work. Threats of physical violence, intimidation, verbal assaults, foul language, stalking and harassment are also considered workplace violence. These dangerous and disruptive behaviors can occur in person, online and over the phone. Note: While not a part of workplace violence, Twisters will not tolerate employees threatening, coercing or intimidating each other.
- Reporting: Employees are encouraged to immediately report any acts of violence, and be assured that reported submitted will not result in any reprisals against the employee. Employees are encouraged to report anonymously by leaving information on the desk for Twister Sports management. Records of each report are needed to assess and improve employees’ safety and the overall effectiveness of the program.
- Final Determination: Twisters will promptly and thoroughly investigate all reports of workplace violence. Twisters will protect the identity of anyone who files a report.
- Controlled Substances: Twister Sports is a drug-free environment and its members will enforce a zero-tolerance policy for the use of alcohol, drugs and/or controlled substances. Participating in any practice, workout, competition, function or related event under the influence of drugs (illegal or legal), alcoholic beverages, intoxicant or narcotic substances, controlled substances is strictly prohibited and will be subject to disciplinary action. Any employee found using, possessing, buying or receiving illegal drugs, performance-enhancing substances, controlled substances and/or alcohol in or on the premises, parking lots or other locations during a sponsored/sanctioned event is strictly forbidden and is in violation of this policy. Note: Twister Sports reserves the right to randomly drug test or do so upon reasonable suspicion.
- Harassment: Harassing conduct has no place in the workplace, therefore, we apply this policy equally to all staff, management and patrons. Harassing conduct by managers, supervisors, or employees, including customers, at any level, will not be tolerated. Any employee who believes that he or she has been subjected to, or has witnessed, any harassing conduct should report the matter promptly to a member of Twister management. If harassing conduct is found to have occurred, supervisors and managers must take appropriate corrective and disciplinary actions, up to and including removal. Twisters also prohibits retaliation against any employee for making a good-faith report of harassing conduct or for cooperating with or participating in any investigation of alleged harassing conduct. All information provided to management will be maintained on a confidential basis to the greatest extent possible.
