This lesson plan focuses on stunt conditioning and routine review.

Results Statement: By completing this lesson plan, you will effectively accomplish a 30-minute virtual session. All families should be notified in advance what materials they may need (a soft surface, a towel, etc.)

Begin the class by asking the children: “What is your favorite animal?”

Make sure you know the names of each child. People can be renamed in Zoom if that helps you to remember.

Teach them how to do video and mute/unmute.

 

Warm Up:

50 Jumping Jacks

Swim forward

Swim backward

Cherry pickers

Talkers

Blinkers

Neck

Ankles

 

Bridges:

Bridge rocks x 10

Bridge kicks x 5 on each leg

Bridge tick tock kicks x 5 times switching

 

Backbends:

Standing backbends x5

 

Handstand:

Handstand x 5

 

Conditioning: 

Sit-ups x 20

Push-up x 10

Lunges x 5 on each leg

Burpees x 15

Squats x 20

 

Routine Work:

Both teams mark through dance

2 Legit mark through whole routine

Inf1nity mark through whole routine (use video if that will help)

 

Jumps:

Hip Flexors x 10 on each side and 10 in middle

Straddle pike jumps (on the ground) x 5

Both teams do jumps x 3

 

Stunt Conditioning: 

-Mountain should shrugs x 20

-Bases & Backspot – hold shoe at prep level, dip up to extension and down. Flyer – hold shoe at waist level with feet together, on dip jump and squeeze hollow. We will do these to an 8 count

-Shoe above head squat jumps x 15

 

Flexibility:

Hip flexors (runners’ stretch)

Hamstrings

Splits

 

End the class with hands in to the camera counting 1-2-3 “Twisters!”
