This is a Position Agreement by and between the Coach/Instructor and the Owner(s) of Pride of Illinois Cheerleading & Tumbling, Inc., and is intended to detail the expectations for success in the relationship between these two positions.
Results Statement: This position is responsible for delivering high quality skill instruction, fun fitness experiences, and building up the self confidence of our students.
Reporting Positions: None.
Entrepreneurial Work:
- Observe and document ideas and suggestions that will continue to improve the Pride experience for our students and their families.
- Observe and document ideas that will improve the athlete learning experience and skills progressions in our programs.
- Observe and document ideas that will improve leadership and teamwork throughout the gym.
Technical Work:
- Be a Rockstar at your Coaching Assignments.

- Follow Pride lesson plans and curriculum for coaching assignments. Submit ideas for improving lesson plans and curriculum to supervisors.
- Start and end training sessions on time.Â
- Greet athletes in the waiting area for each training session enthusiastically!
- Check for Class Bands in training sessions that require them. Athletes without a Class Band should be sent to the front desk.
- Interact with athletes before class, and during stretching, circulating among the athletes making small talk, welcoming them, correcting form, etc.
- Create a positive, high-energy training session for athletes. Keep them engaged, moving, and having fun. Be the coaching Rockstar you are!
- Follow gym rotations and keep your training groups in the scheduled space to be used. Share space, mats, and equipment, and be flexible and cooperative with other coaches.
- Follow all gym rules as set by management (i.e. trampoline and pit usage, no unattended athletes on equipment, food and drink in the gym, etc.).
- End each training session on time, with a positive comment or word of encouragement for the athletes.
- Collect Class Bands and return to storage cart.
- Put away mats and any equipment used at the end of every class.
- Take attendance for every Coaching Assignment, every day, in the systems designated by management (Amilia, JackRabbit, etc.).
- Report any 2 or more consecutive absences to the department supervisor or front desk.
- Regularly communicate with parents and clients regarding athlete progress.
- Monitor and document progressions in MySkillChart, and on periodic evaluation forms or report cards.

- Make regular, weekly contributions to Pictures & Video folder in Google Drive.

- Upload a minimum of 2 pictures or videos of athletes by 5 p.m. on Thursdays. Pictures and videos should be taken on the Pride phone and Ipads when possible. Â
Monthly Benchmarks
In order for this position to exist, the following monthly benchmarks must be hit:Â
- Goal: New Skill Acquisition. Coaches are responsible for attaining 0.5 new skill/month per hour of coaching/week. For example, a coach who worked 20 hours in one month (as a tumbling coach) would be required to attain 10 new skills that month.
- Goal: Retention of 85% or better in Coaching Assignments.

-  The primary concern is for the client (student & parents). Client needs will be met in a manner or consistent with company mission. All employees will make the clients’ needs a priority.Â
- All staff will present themselves with the highest level of integrity and professionalism at all times. Anything that violates this can cause in dismissal from our program.Â
- All clients and fellow employees will be greeted and treated in a friendly, professional manner. We are courteous, respectful, use please and thank you, etc. Remember, we are in the relationship business!Â

- Attend all staff meetings as scheduled.Â
- Arrive a minimum of 10 minutes early to all Pride activities and coaching assignments.
- All work will be performed according to the developing Staff and Operations Manuals, as well as in the spirit of Pride’s strategic objectives.Â
- Employees will enjoy learning, creating and improving systems.Â
- Employees will be proactive, anticipate problems, and demonstrate enthusiasm about their work.Â
- Employees will strive to have fun at work, and be fun to work with.Â
- Employees will always communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively with parents, athletes, staff, and the public about Pride’s policies, programs, competitions and other initiatives.
- All work will be neat and accurate. All correspondence will be in a neat and professional manner.Â
- All documents, records and files will be maintained in the Google Drive or filing cabinets as directed.Â
- Employees will not use profane or offensive languages, nor making disparaging remarks about clients, co-workers or supervisors.Â
- Employees will understand that social media is not a private aspect of your life. All posts should be treated as a direct reflection of your position at Pride of Illinois.
- Coaches should not be making or taking personal calls while on the floor. Keep these calls to a minimum.Â
- Employees will help with the take down and set up of the gym for certain events such as showcase, parties, camp, etc. Â
- Effort will be made to help employees/peers perform to the best of their ability and to meet company and department standards.Â
- Â All client and business information is confidential, violations of this will be grounds for immediate dismissal. As a Coach, you will have access to documents, finance information, business operational aspects, trade secrets and various other items. It is expected that this information will ONLY be used for the purposes of your work with Pride of Illinois and with the EXPRESSED consent of its Owner(s).
- As Coach, your Non-Compete Contract with our program is expanded to include the following: You may not operate as an Owner, Director, or Investor of a youth sports gym within a 120 mile radius of Pride of Illinois for a period of 3 years following your departure from Pride. You may not coach all-star cheerleading within 30 miles of Pride of Illinois for a full year following your departure from Pride. You may not contact any past or current Pride of Illinois athletes or clients for the purpose of recruiting them to another program, team or business related to cheerleading, gymnastics, ninja, warrior or dance for a period of 3 years following your departure from Pride. You may not solicit any Pride of Illinois customers for any reason whatsoever.
- Â No conversations regarding compensation will be discussed with anyone other than your immediate supervisor or company owner.Â
- Â All employees will prioritize, plan and utilize time in a manner to be most effective.Â
- Socializing is not to impede work flow. All employees will be respectful of the practice and front desk areas as working areas where staff are expected to be productive. Socialize in private. All employees should be respectful of others’ needs for time and concentration.Â
- Â A written letter of resignation is necessary when resigning/leaving the company. Such written notice will be presented to your immediate supervisor and the Owner.Â
Legal
- Governing Law –Â This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Illinois.
- Arbitration Agreement: Employee agrees that if any employment-related dispute cannot be resolved internally, Employee shall pursue their complaint through binding arbitration. Â
