2)  Focus on improving the experience of the new members.

What this will do: 

  1. People decide if they will become members in the first 7 minutes they walk in the door. 
  2. This will help them feel welcome and provide reasonable expectations.
  3. This will increase the efforts of the front desk staff, owners and coaches.
  4. This will increase the overall client retention and length of term for clients.
  5. This will help begin the process of building relationships.
  6. Trial student email throughout the month.
  7. Trial student postcard (or conversion postcard?)

What we need to do to make this successful: 

  1. Create New Members’ Welcome Packet to answer their questions before they have them.
  2. Build First-Timer email. How can we auto-send this 24 hours prior? Build a template in Jackrabbit? Schedule the email?
  3. Increase signage for the building. When people don’t know where to go, they feel uncomfortable.
  4. Review our tour process. Do we need to add, omit or change anything we do?
  5. Train our staff on what it means to be a “trial member.” 
  6. Add a “band” system for new members to wear.
