This lesson plan focuses on roundoff drills and review of previous skills.

Begin the class by asking the children: “What is your favorite animal”

Make sure you know the names of each child. People can be renamed in Zoom if that helps you to remember.

Teach them how to do video and mute/unmute.

Warm Up:

50 jumping jacks

Straddle Sit

Pike sit

Butterflies

Shoulder 

Swim forward

Swim backward

Cherry pickers

Talkers

Blinkers

Neck

Ankles

 

Bridges:

Bridge rocks x 10

Bridge head taps or claps

Bridge kicks

Bridge tick tock kicks

Bridge walk 10 steps

 

Backbends:

Standing backbends x5

 

Handstand:

Handstand x 5

Handstand hops x 5

Handstand walks x 10 steps total

Handstand half-pirouette

Tuck up

Straddle up

Inverted handstand on a wall

Wall sit x 30 seconds

 

Roundoff Strengthening:

Power hurdle over a Pillow x 10

bear crawl circle – (engages hip flexor)

heel drive (laying on ground lifting one leg with straight leg)

Knee, T, Needle x 10

 

Skills:

Front Limber

FWO

Backbend kickover

BWO

Candlestick to hollow body

 

Conditioning: 

Sit-ups x20

Push-up x10

Sumo squat jumps (30 sec)

Burpees x 15

 

Flexibility:

Right leg split

Left leg split

 

End the class with hands in to the camera counting 1-2-3 “Twisters!”
