This lesson plan focuses on plyometrics, ninja rolls and handstands.

Results Statement: By completing this lesson plan, you will effectively accomplish a 30-minute virtual session. All families should be notified in advance what materials they may need (a soft surface, a towel, etc.)

Begin the class by asking the children: “What is your favorite thing to do outside?”

Make sure you know the names of each child. People can be renamed in Zoom if that helps you to remember.

Teach them how to do video and mute/unmute.

Warm Up:

50 jumping jacks

Jog in place 30 sec

High knees

Bottom kickers

Inch Worms

Side lunges right

Side lunges left

Squat and press

Swim forward

Swim backward

Cherry pickers

Blinkers

Neck

Ankles

 

Stool Jumps:

High knees – placing one foot on the stool at a time

Step off and replace foot

Jump twist over stool

 

Rolls:

Forward rolls

Ninja rolls

Candlesticks

 

Handstands:

Spider Handstands – If no wall use couch 

In a mountain and switch leg

Mountain push up clap

Shoulder touches

 

Conditioning: 

Ski jumps

Push ups

Sit ups

Mountain climbers

Burpees 

Jump squats half turns 

 

Flexibility:

Straddle each side & middle

Pike

Butterfly

Hip flexors (runners’ stretch)

Hamstrings

End the class with hands in to the camera counting 1-2-3 “Twisters!”
