Virtual Classes: Twisting

 

Reminder for Coach:

 

  • You should be engaged with the kids just like in class
  • Wear a staff shirt
  • Make sure the background for your video is great!
  • Try to talk with every kid in every class

 

 

Class Plan: 

  1. Welcome- 2 Minutes
    1. Have everyone enter their name in the chat
    2. Remind the to stay muted so everyone can hear 
    3. Cameras on
    4. Today we will need: 
      1. A mattress, A couch, a trampoline or a Mat something to do drills on your parents won’t kill you for using 
  2. Warm Up- Coach should demo each activity so they know what to do 
    1. 30 Jumping Jacks
    2. 20 Alternating Lunges 
    3. 20 Tap Tap Squats 
    4. 30 High Knees 
    5. 3o Second Spring in place 
  3. Stretch- 
    1. Straddle 
      1. Reach Left
      2. Reach Right 
      3. Reach Middle
    2. Lunge 
    3. Straight Leg
    4. Splits 
    5. Switch
    6. Ankles
    7. Wrists
    8. Bridges 
      1. Holds and Rocks

 

  1. Education- 
    1. Today we are working on twisting, do you know what the # 1 problem in fulls and doubles is?- A- LAYOUT and Round Off 
    2. Reminder- These skills are not just skills you can chuck wait for your coaches to tell you it is time to start working them in a space that is needed. 

 

  1. Shaping 5 Times Each X 3 Sets 
    1. Memory Handstands 
    2. Candlestick twist Left
    3. Candlestick twist right
    4. BHS Freeze in Handstand on Wall Squeeze tummy, head in line arms by ears 
    5. BHS full on a mat if you have one or a tramp etc. 

 

  1. Blocking Drills- 10 Times each two sets 
    1. Using A wall and a mattress or something like this, Jump push off toes and onto back
    2.  Add a Layout to plank roll to this 
    3. Handstand Snap Down and Up onto mat or mattress
      1. Focusing on open to closed shoulders 

 

  1. Full Drills- 10 X Each Two sets
    1. BHS to Tummy on Mattress 
    2. BHS Half Turn to back focus on keeping one arm up and one drops at half 
    3. BHS Full 
    4. Blocking Wall arms behind ears fast open shoulders into a High V

 

  1. Arabian/Standing Full Drills 
    1. Rebound Half Twist Forward Roll 
    2. Cartwheel or round off add rebound half twist forward roll 
    3. Should be twisting in the same direction as you fullÂ
