This policy applies to (Your Gym Name) athletes, parents, staff or any individual representing themselves or (Your Gym Name) and refers to all forms of social media.

SOCIAL MEDIA INCLUDES:  but is not limited to, such activities as:

  • Maintaining a profile page on social or business networking sites (such as LinkedIn,
  • Facebook, Shutterfly, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat )
  • Content sharing include Flicker, Instagram (photo sharing) 
  •  YouTube (video sharing)
  • Commenting on blogs
  • Taking part in conversations on public and private web forums (message boards)
  • Editing a Wikipedia page.

The following are examples of conduct through social media and networking mediums that are considered violations of this policy and which may be subject to disciplinary action by (Your Gym Name), at the discretion of the owner:

  • Statements which are critical of, but not limited to, (Your Gym Name) personnel, its programs, employees, officials, athletes, members, and volunteers, or sponsors.
  • Divulging confidential information that may include, but is not limited to the following: medical history (injuries or other), team plans or strategies and any other information that is deemed confidential.
  • Posting videos of routines or practices that exceed 30 secs in length or are full sections of stunting or tumbling prior to the last competition of the season, including any nationals or end of season events.
  • Sharing or divulging photos, videos or comments which promote negative influences or criminal behavior, including but not limited to: drug use, alcohol abuse, public intoxication, sexual exploitation, etc.
  • Online activity that contradicts the current policies of (Your Gym Name)
  • Any negative behavior towards (Your Gym Name) or any other gym, team or athlete via any medium
  • Slander, libel or other illegal inaccurate statements toward (Your Gym Name), its staff, owners or members.

Inappropriate content on any social media website will result in the following actions being taken:

1st offence – Verbal or written warning 

2nd offence – expulsion from the programs/staff/volunteer duties and possible legal implications depending on the severity
