This lesson plan focuses on cardio, agility and learning fun new skills.
Results Statement: By completing this lesson plan, you will effectively accomplish a 30-minute virtual session. All families should be notified in advance what materials they may need (a soft surface, a towel, etc.)
Begin the class by asking the children: “What is your favorite thing to do outside?”
Make sure you know the names of each child. People can be renamed in Zoom if that helps you to remember.
Teach them how to do video and mute/unmute.
- Roundhouse kicks
- Break skill into parts (practice)
- Do all together (practice)
- How many times without falling
- Shoulder touches in plank position (self explanatory)
- Yoga stretches
- Spinning jumping jacks
- Freeze dance
- Play music (2:00 min)
- Randomly hit freeze on music
- Freeze in a crazy position
- Cheat push ups
- Chest off floor then bottom / bottom down chest down
- Warm up
- Hip hip, shoulder shoulder, raise arm raise arm, clap clap
- Repeat process in reverse
- At jumping while doing activity (up and down, forward and back, or side to side)
End the class with hands in to the camera counting 1-2-3 “Twisters!”
