Team Parent Guide

Congratulations !! you have been selected to be the team parent for the season. We would like to thank you for stepping up and volunteering your time! A team parents main job is to help create a positive and fun experience for the athletes and help take a bit of pressure off the coaches for the season. Cheerleading is so much more than a sport and at Premier we like to encourage outside relationships with teammates and with other families. Here is a guideline to help you throughout the season.

  1. Be present on the team Facebook page
    1. Introduce yourself
    2. Remind parents on Facebook about events, competitions or any other reminders that pertain to the team or age group! The information for this can be found in the Weekly Update email or from the front desk or coaches.
  2. Help answer questions that new parents may have ( if you do not know the answer that is ok; direct them to a staff member who would )

  1. Take Pictures of the team during events, practice or any candids that you can get for the year end Banquet/ Memories for the team.
  2. Organize Team bonding events
    1. We have found the most successful team bondings are organized around Holidays (Halloween, Christmas, First competition, Valentines day) or Bi Monthly.
    2. Check with coaches to make sure they have the opportunity to join
    3. Please try and find activities with low costs so all can attend
    4. Be clear and early on dates, times and costs so all members have the opportunity to schedule to come.
  3. Trunk or Treat
    1. We do ask that all teams participate in decorating a trunk and handing out candy
    2. This can be a team bonding event
    3. Try to theme the trunk around the team name or other things related to the team
  4. Provide help at competitions
    1. Help gather athletes for meet times
    2. Help keep an eye on team if coach requests.
    3. Help will most likely be needed during our Prep Rally ( Formerly known as Red Carpet Reveal)
  5. Help Coaches organize any forms (Medical release, Travel) or handouts that may come out throughout the season
  6. Year end Banquet
    1. Help promote and make sure teammates have tickets by the deadline
    2. Help with decorations and set up ( each team will need theme tables decorated)
    3. Organize a coaches gift if the team feels its necessary

Thank you again for volunteering your time and helping out this season. You are a star !!!!
