2020-2021 Five Star Athletics Tryouts

Individual Athlete Routines

Jumps,Tumbling and Dance/Performance

* Please read the entire document, it is recommended that parents read through this with their athlete.

Below is a breakdown of the routine to be performed for evaluations. The routine will go in the order written below. The routine music is designed so there is about 2-3, 8 counts of rest between each section. Under each category  the skills are written from base level,  mid level, and high level. Athletes will select the level routine they feel the most comfortable performing. Within that level, they can select the low medium or high skills for each category. An athlete may decide to do high standing tumbling, but low running tumbling. This allows athletes to create the routine to best show off their skills. The skills listed below are the athletes choices for their routine.

Performing this routine is required for:

L1 Athletes wanting to tryout for the Level 1 Elite Team

L2-L6 Athletes of all ages

The routine order will be as follows:

  1. Running Tumbling
  2. Transition
  3. Jumps to tumbling
  4. Triple Jump
  5. Standing Tumbling
  6. Dance
  7. Out of level skill (optional)

Please see below for a further breakdown of each section. Athletes should keep in mind, they are required to perform skills from the SAME level throughout the routine.

*Exception: Transition pass can be a choice from the skills list below

Teams will be created looking at overall success as a whole, not just in tumbling.Only 60% of the team is required to do the tumbling passes, so athletes could be placed on a team as a “Stunter” meaning that they may be out of their tumbling level but fulfil another role on the team.
