Results Statement: The following system is used by Premier Academy to fill emergency vacancies among the staff.

In the case of illness or emergency situation, there will be someone in place, ready to cover for classes and/or practices.  This person will be considered ON-CALL.  In all other events, the on-call person will not be expected to be at work during the hours in which they are assigned as on-call.

For Staff:

  1. Date and time frame in which you are on call will be different every week. You will know with one month’s notice. On Call shifts will be scheduled in to your regular schedule on WHEN I WORK
  2. As ON CALL you are expected to be ready, in the case of needing to cover for someone in an emergency or case of illness
  3. If the on-call employee is unavailable during their scheduled on-call shift, a drop shift Request form must be submitted and approved (see Time off Request System)
  4. The on-call person will only be required to log hours in Jackrabbit (to be paid) if they were physically called in to the gym to cover
  5. In most cases, will have at least 45 minutes notice

Employee who is calling in/emergency:

  1. Must phone the program coordinator with at least 2 hours notice of needing coverage (in case of emergency, it may be less than 2 hours) EMAIL or TEXT MESSAGE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
  2. Program Coordinator will decide whether or not the sick time/emergency reason is warranted in order to avoid exploitation of the system
  3. If employee is ill and needs to see a doctor (clinic or emergency room) a note from said doctor must be presented to the Program Coordinator before their following shift
  4. If employee is sick for 3 consecutive shifts, an application for leave of absence (Time off Request) must be submitted with an attached note from a doctor explaining the reason for needing multiple shifts off
  5. In the case of emergency, a clear explanation must be communicated with the Program Coordinator.
    1. Program coordinator has the right to ask for a witness or secondary person to validate what is considered the emergency

Failure to abide by the above guidelines will result in disciplinary action, one offense= conversational warning from Program Coordinator, second offense= written warning from PC, third offense may result in (depending on severity and communication)  a)a second and final written warning or b)dismissal from staff
